Who are those for??

Whilst out browsing around the shops yesterday I came across these Topshop leggings which made the boyf exclaim. Who are those for?? Daddy long legs!! I almost fell over laughing and just had to get a picture of him with them. It kinda looks like he is

ridiculously small standing next to them and I assure you he isn't he's much taller than I am. I'm guessing the leggings have been made extra long so the can be scrunched up around the ankle but I think on me they would probably scrunch all the way to my arse!!

I've realised I've been contradicting myself lately by saying that I need to get some new stuff to wear and also saying I need to go on a shopping ban. I think a total shopping ban for me is out of the question, I just don't have that kind of will power. Anyway I've already given up smoking this year and we can't give up everything we enjoy right? Maybe I just need to learn to spend what money I do have on pieces that I'll really love instead of frittering it away on cheep crap that I'll only wear once. In general the things that I wear all the time are the things that I thought about buying for ages where as the things I buy on impulse usually don't keep my interest for to long. Wow I think I've just taught myself my shopping lesson for the next month, lets see how that one goes!!!!

No Sleep Till Brooklin.

Bought this new hat today as a little treat to my £poor self before payday. I really do struggle to go into town without buying something. The hat came in doubly useful though as it was very windy so it stopped my hair blowing around and it's covering my appalling roots! Getting my hair done on Thursday so that should fix that problem (what an expense colour upkeep is I could get a new outfit for the amount it costs).
There were so many great things in the shops today I thing I've spent my pay in my head before it's even hit my bank account! Think I might need to go on a shopping ban so that I can afford to eat.

Feeling Floral

My friend and I were both feeling a little floral today in our choice of dresses so when we walked past this garden it seemed an appropriate place to take a few pictures. I did nearly fall over on the grass in my heels but the flowers were so pretty I just had to take a closer look.

Playing with Polaroids.

Thanks Sarah from Who Wore What When for alerting me to this great free download that lets you turn your digital pictures into Polaroids. These pictures were taken on my recent holiday to Aberdeen, the sun was shinning everyday and it actually felt like we had left Scotland even though we were further north than we actually live! I have a feeling your going to be seeing many more of my photo's done like this now I have this easy trick up my sleeve. 

Still Out of my Reach.

This is pretty much old news but for anyone who doesn't know Net-A-Porters Outnet was launched last week. Well I think it was last week it may have been the week before but that's irrelevant as it's there for all to see now. I was looking forward to the launch as I had a brief hope that I may be able to afford some designer clothes, alas this wasn't to be as prices as still way out of my reach. I'm sure there are lots of people who can afford the prices so enjoy the designer discounts.
  

Topshop Does It Again.

I may have found my perfect summer dress in this Barbara Hulanicki for Topshop collaboration which hits stores next week.
I'm a little confused as to exactly when it hit's stores as a number of different websites are saying different dates. Susie of Style Bubble and Vogue are both saying the collection will launch on Tuesday, Elle are saying it will be Monday and Love's blog is saying Wednesday??? Guess I'm going to have to be glued to the internet for those three days to make sure I don't miss out on this one.
I'm loving the shoulders on the dress but I am quite nervous of them. The model looks stunning but I'm no model and I've never tried anything with such a structured silhouette. I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones to get hold of one so I can a least try it out.

Hats On

With my recent love of hats and headpieces taking over my imagination I was delighted to come across William Chambers. His beautiful creations are made in his Glasgow studio (I love coming across Scottish talent) and prices start at as little as £70!!
Seems I'm quite late in discovering William as he's been around for some time and has featured in many a magazine and won lots of awards. All his clients have great things to say on the website as he's happy to make custom pieces as well as recreate any of the designs that you see from his collections.
I know where I'll be heading the next time I have somewhere special to go as I imagine having something custom made is a great experience. I'm actually wondering if I should wait until I have a special occasion as these are so beautiful!! I better start saving my penny's now.

Going back in fashion time.

 I had the sudden urge today to pull out my old cowboy boots that I haven't worn in a very long time. These used to be permanently attached to my feet that they're now so comfy to wear.
 I went traveling about 3 years ago and looking back over the photo's I'm wearing these boots in nearly every picture. In fact I think if I look back at pictures from the 2 years before that I'd be wearing them all the time then too. I don't know why I stopped wearing them maybe it's something to do with my recent love of heels over the last few years. Anyway heels aren't always practical so for todays walk around Edinburgh's beautiful Botanical Gardens in the lovely sunshine these were just perfect.

Feeding the Obsession!

I think I should change the name of this blog to something feather related as my obsession seems to be taking over all my thoughts! I can't stop searching for feather related items and today it's headbands. I adore the first one from Urban Outfitters but when I was there the other day I found out that it's really heavy and I don't think it would stay in my hair very well. 
I'm pondering how easy these would be to make if I could be bothered hunting down all the components. I've had a quick look about and the hardest thing to find is a suitable way to keep things in you hair. All the clasps and clips I have found won't really work for what I'm trying to achieve. I'll probably find what I'm looking for once my obsession has faded!

Italian Style in Edinburgh.

I've just heard that Missoni are to be opening a hotel in Edinburgh this summer and I can't wait to see it. However all I'll be able to see are the bar and the restaurant as room prices are to high to be paying when I already have some where to live in Edinburgh.
From looking at the website I think it looks lovely and the descriptions of the rooms make me wish for a nights stay even more. Anyone who is visiting Edinburgh should definitely have a look and I'll go for a peek to once it's open.
