Today was a very exciting day in my little world. I've never been lucky enough to go to any of the fashion weeks but today the fashion world came to me! Murkus Lupfer was in Edinburgh at Harvey Nichols showing his spring summer collection to some of his customers. It was great to hear Markus talking about his inspiration for the collection whilst seeing the models wearing his beautiful clothes.
I was really interested in all the techniques that he used in creating his designs. In the printed dress above he told us how he first made the dress with the pattern embroidered on it and then photographed that dress. Once he had the photograph he then digitally printed on to the silk which created a beautiful effect. We also heard about how all his embellishments are hand swen which in my eyes definitely justifies the price of his garments. I was really tempted to buy something today after hearing all about the processes involved in the design but I knew my credit card wouldn't thank me so I had to pass.
Markus was really lovely and stayed around after to answer questions and have a chat with everyone. He even let me have my photo taken with him, I was pretty star stuck if I'm honest.

AAAAaaaaaggghhh!! Quentin leaned over me and asked, "Mom, why do you keep saying 'Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh'"? Hahaha! These adorable, chubby-cheek faces are KILLING me! Sorry, and no offense to the store, Geri, but I barely noticed the merchandise or clothing this time around. TOO CUTE!! :D
