>>>Another make up related post, I seem to be doing quite a few of these recently. It might have something to do with my lack of funds for clothes shopping (I'll get to that bit later) so at the moment I'm purchasing make up instead. This time it's some Topshop nail polish which goes by the name of Parma Violet, the colour when on is a very pretty lilac colour however it did take 3 coats on some nails to get full coverage.
MMmm Parma Violets was all I could think about when I bought it! It got me thinking about my favourite perfume that I'll never be able to afford. It's called Love In Black by Creed.
Love In Black smells just like Parma Violets, every time I'm in a shop that sells it I just have to spray the tester card. I then place it in my handbag so that it smells like violets for a few days. I wish I could let you have a sniff of it where ever you are right now. Some people aren't to keen on this perfume but I just love it.
Creed perfumes have been around for a very long time and still use the traditional infusion technique that most modern perfumers have abandoned because if it expense. So as you can imagine if you were ever to get a bottle it would be something very special indeed.
That bottle is unlikely to come my way any time soon as like I mentioned before I'm not feeling to flush at the moment. So I've decided to put myself on a shopping ban. The first thing I thought of was how can I make this shopping ban more fun? Well I've decided to challenge myself to wear a different outfit ever day using the clothes and accessories I already have.
My rules go like this.
I can't wear the same outfit twice.
I can wear the same piece of clothing more than once but I must wear it with something different each time.
I must take a picture of every outfit and post it here for the next 30 days, including any changes I make from day to evening.
I must not buy anything at all fashion wise in the next 30 days! This includes make up and accessories.
My first challenge is a Gap discount shopping evening that I'm going to with a friend tomorrow night. Nothing like throwing myself in at the deep end! Wish me luck.
Last night I tried out my purchase from the Topshop make up range the glitter in the colour Lagoon. I was very impressed with it as it stayed put all night in fact so much so that I struggled to get it all off and woke up this morning to find it all over my pillow.
It's also incredibly sparkly and a number of people commented on it throughout the night. I'd definitely recommend it especially if your a fan of the Mac pigment pots as it's much cheaper and just as good.
I'm looking forward to trying out some of the other things in the range, hopefully they'll be just as great.
I found out the other day that Mac had a new collection out called the Style Black Collection and it made me very excited. I love dark make-up, if fact the darker it is the better so yesterday I rushed out to purchase my selected pieces.
It didn't quite work out to plan as the eyeshadow called Young Punk (top left) was sold out and that was the one thing that I had really hoped to get. I then considered getting one of the black lipsticks until I thought about how likely I was to actually wear it. I've been getting really into wearing lipstick recently having not worn any for about 10 years so I purchased the one called Night Violet which is a dark plum colour. It looks amazing on and I've been wearing it ever since I bought it.
My next purchase was the Greasepaint Stick in Intense Black which also looks amazing on and is very easy to smudge, I've also been wearing this since I bought it. I would have loved to buy more of the collection as there are nail polishes and lip glosses in great dark colours as well but I didn't want to blow all my money right at the start of the month!
If your loving the collection as much as I am you better get to Mac fast as it all seems to be selling out very fast.
